CHOIR CONCERT
Wednesday 29 May 2024, 18.00, TJ Sokol Slavonín
The first event of the Festival of Songs Olomouc 2024 will be a singing evening in the Slavonín Sokol Hall. The concert will feature the children's choir from Ústí nad Labem Chorea pueri ustensis, the Brno choir Divočáci and the vocal ensemble Vocallica from nearby Šternberk. Czech music will predominate in the programme. The concert will be held with the support of the Slavonín Football Club and the Commission of the Olomouc - Slavonín Municipal District No. 23.

CHOIR CONCERT
Thursday 30 May 2024, 16.00, Sokol Hall Olomouc-Chválkovice
On Thursday afternoon, the second choir concert of the Festival of Songs Olomouc will take place in the Chválkovice Sokol Hall. Come and listen to the Olomouc children's choir Andromeda from the BoDo centre and their German colleagues from the Oberstufenchor des Geschwister-Scholl-Gymnasiums. The concert will start at 4 pm. Together, the choirs have prepared a varied repertoire ranging from sacred and folk music to popular melodies. The concert is organized in cooperation with the Commission of the Municipal District No. 6 Olomouc - Chválkovice.

OPENING CONCERT OF THE FESTIVAL

On Thursday evening, the Pilsen Children's Opera Choir, Kajetan, last year's absolute winner of the festival and winner of the Audience Award, will return to the Reduta in Olomouc. The choir will perform at 6 pm in the company of one of the best youth choirs in our country, the KOS Mixed Choir of the Litomyšl Pedagogical School. The concert will also feature the festival theme song Come Spring, Come, composed by Jan Vičar on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the festival last year.

CONCERT TRIBUTE TO CZECH COMPOSERS
Friday 31 May 2024, 20.00, Reduta Hall MFO
The festival will include a workshop for adult and youth choirs, culminating in a gala evening concert. All types of adult choirs - female, male and mixed - will be presented to the audience in the Reduta Hall. The concert will offer a varied programme of Czech music. The Slovak Teachers' Choir, the Mixed Choir Smetana - Hulín, the Canticum Choir - Ostrava and other registered adult choirs under the direction of renowned choirmasters Lenka Polášková, Jurij Galatenko and Štefan Sedlický will perform.

CONCERT FESTIVAL FOR CHILDREN OR A FEAST OF SONGS AND FAIRY TALES
Saturday 1 June 2024, 16.00, Reduta Hall MFO
The Children's Festival event, which will take place on Horní náměstí from 10:00 a.m., will culminate in a concert in the Reduta Hall, at which the premiere of a series of fairy-tale songs by Jaroslav Uhlíř and Zdenek Svěrák arranged for children's choirs and orchestra will be heard. The festival commissioned arrangements of popular songs from the promising young arranger and composer Martin Kudrna. You can look forward to songs from the fairy tales Long Live Ghosts!, Lotrando and Zubejda, Three brothers and others.
Renowned children's choirs from ZUŠ Campanella and BoDo Centre will perform together with the competition choirs, accompanied by the orchestra of ZUŠ OPEN Olomouc Region and the Iša Krejčí Chamber Orchestra under the direction of Tomáš Klásek.

ABSOLUTE WINNER COMPETITION OF MUNDI CANTANT

The Festival of Songs Olomouc will close with the traditional showcase of this year's best rated choirs. The competition for the absolute winner of the MUNDI CANTANT competition will take place from 7.30 p.m. again in the Reduta Hall and will offer the best of the festival competition.
